The Acquapendente Waterfall

Immersed in the greenery of the Apuan Alps, near Monte Forato and reachable from the town of Pruno, we find the imposing Acquapendente Waterfall, which offers a unique spectacle in all seasons of the year.

Reachable from the village of Pruno di Stazzema in just 40 minutes on foot. At Seravezza take the provincial road towards Castelnuovo Garfagnana. After the built-up area of Ruosina, take the road to the right towards Pontestazzemese. Beyond the latter, continue in the direction of Cardoso-Pruno. Reached the town of Pruno, leave the car in the parking lot and go up to the center.

Cross the center of the village, pass the 'Il Poveromo' restaurant and, in a few minutes, reach the last house of the town. Here, on the left side, a path begins which, in about ten minutes' walk in a dense chestnut wood, descends to an open space where you meet an ancient stone bridge that crosses the Canal di Deglio. From here there are two paths to reach the Acquapendente waterfall, one that starts on the left just before the bridge and another that always starts on the left, but immediately after the bridge. (Indicated as A = Alto and B = Basso).

The path, very suggestive, offers splendid landscapes. At the start we can admire Monte Forato, which overlooks the territory.
