Porto Venere, UNESCO heritage site

Porto Venere, or Portovenere, is an Italian municipality located near the Cinque Terre, together with the islands of Palmaria, Tino, Tinetto and the Cinque Terre it has been included among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Characteristic Ligurian town, with a Mediterranean climate and classic colored terraced houses, it has a long seafront promenade, full of sea view restaurants, and splendid panoramic views, from the windows that make the landscape a real natural framework...



...to the gulf on the back.



At the end of the walk, at the tip, the Church of San Pietro awaits us.



The Church offers unforgettable views, from the large three-light window, with a splendid sea view...



...to the large terrace, with a splendid view of the Porto Venere Regional Natural Park, an islet that can be reached by boat.



Portovenere can be reached by summer ferry directly from the pier of Forte dei Marmi, by train from the Querceta / Forte dei Marmi station, or by car about an hour by motorway from Versilia.
